Born
on 3 April 1943 in Nirmali village in Bhagalpur (now Supaul) district of Bihar,
Shri Rameshwar Prem began his literary career writing poetry and short fiction.
He obtained a Master’s degree in Hindi at Bihar University in 1965 and moved to
Delhi in 1969, working at the Central Hindi Directorate of the erstwhile
Ministry of Education, Government of India. He was later employed in the
Central Translation Bureau of the Ministry of Home Affairs, retiring as
Assistant Director in 2003.
श्री रामेश्वर प्रेम का
जन्म 3 अप्रैल 1943 को बिहार के भागलपुर (अब सुपोल) जिले के निर्मली गाँव में हुआ
था। श्री प्रेम ने अपने साहित्यिक करियर की शुरूआत कविता तथा लघु उपन्यास से की
थी। उन्होंने 1965 में बिहार विश्वविद्यालय से हिंदी में मास्टर डिग्री प्राप्त
की थी और 1969 में दिल्ली आ गए थे। उन्होंने पूर्वकाल में शिक्षा मंत्रालय, भारत सरकार के केंद्रीय हिंदी निदेशालय में
कार्य किया। वे बाद में गृह मंत्रालय के केंद्रीय अनुवाद ब्यूरो में नियुक्त हुए
और 2003 में सहायक निदेशक के रूप में सेवानिवृत्त हुए।
